The Main House

The Maison de l'Orchidee is a historic Masters Vignernon house that dates back to the 1700s. While preserving its original charm, the main facilities of this bed and breakfast, Chambre Dhotes, have been updated to meet modern standards. The use of wooden doors and skirtings throughout the house adds to its historical ambiance. With central heating in all rooms, it is an ideal choice for breaks during the later seasons. The loft space has been insulated with half a metre thickness, ensuring a cozy environment during winter months. This is particularly delightful in October and November, when the surrounding autumn colors create a picturesque setting. Returning to a warm room after a day out and enjoying a complimentary mug of hot chocolate or Coca (available for winter bookings only, from November to March) adds to the overall comfort. The construction of the walls helps maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year, keeping the house cool in the summer and retaining heat in the winter. Additionally, all bedroom suites are equipped with large ceiling fans to circulate air during warm summer nights, ensuring a pleasant and restful sleep.
