Our beautiful guest house is full of character and is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence. "Locanda Gallo" is situated in the "Quartiere San Lorenzo," one of the most important historical sectors of the city.Housed in a traditional Florentine building, Locanda Gallo boasts a small entrance and charming little stairs. It occupies the 3rd floor of a 15th-century palace that once hosted a part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta."
In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Currently, we offer the following accommodations:
- 1 reception area with a complimentary computer and internet access
- 2 private rooms with four beds and en suite bathrooms
- 2 private rooms with three beds and en suite bathrooms, one of which includes a kitchen corner
- 3 private rooms with double beds, en suite bathrooms, and kitchen corners
Our rooms are bright, clean, and newly furnished. Each room offers a private bathroom, TV, free WI-FI internet access, and air conditioning. Guests are provided with their own set of keys and there is no curfew, allowing you to come and go as you please. Our double rooms with kitchen corners are perfect for longer stays.

We are here to assist you with our experience and courtesy to ensure you have a memorable stay in Florence. If you are seeking a standard, anonymous, and ordinary place, Locanda Gallo may not be the right fit for you.
Please note that our guest house is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors without an elevator. Additional amenities include TV with digital channels, fax service, room service upon request, linen and hand towels, kitchen corners in the studios, hairdryers available on demand, availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (limited to certain rooms), assistance with booking museum tickets, bicycle rental, city maps, cell phone rental, free WiFi in all rooms, cleaning service (from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm), personal safes, garage parking for an additional fee of 15 euros per day, bike rental, and a partnership with typical Florentine restaurants.

Directions
Our location is incredibly convenient, as the Central Railway Station is only a 15-minute walk away. From there, you can easily explore Florence and visit nearby attractions such as the Duomo, which is just a 15-minute walk, and the David, which is only a 10-minute walk. The Santa Maria Novella train station is also within walking distance, approximately 20 minutes away. The Galleria dell'Accademia, where you can see the original David by Michelangelo, is only 500 meters away, while the Cathedral is just 400 meters away. The Uffizi Gallery is also nearby, approximately 800 meters away.
For your convenience, we have plenty of amenities in close proximity, including an internet cafe, numerous bars and pubs, many restaurants (including one that caters to vegetarians), a launderette, a supermarket, a bank, a police station, and the open-air market of San Lorenzo.

By Air:
If you arrive at Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci of Florence, you can take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile. Turn right and continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. It should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to walk to our location.
By Train:
If you arrive at Stazione Santa Maria Novella, you can reach us on foot in just 10 to 15 minutes. Take the left exit towards Piazza Adua. Walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile. Turn right and continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once you are on Via San Gallo, turn left and continue until you reach the number 73, where we are located. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you are coming from the north, Pisa, or from highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova, exit at Firenze Nord and follow the directions for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the Fortezza da Basso underpass, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you will find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for the number 73. Our location is marked with the sign "Locanda Gallo."
If you are coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or from highway A1 Roma-Napoli, exit at Firenze Sud and follow the directions for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first traffic light and continue along Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano. At the next traffic light, cross the street and keep right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you will find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for the number 73. Our location is marked with the sign "Locanda Gallo."
